Best strings for metal guitar?

i have a Schecter Hellraiser Special C-1 and my high E snapped while i was tuning down D to C. Im not sure but i think there D'Addario 46-10's.so what im wondering is what are the best strings to get for metal/metalcore, and that wont break? And can you hit artificial harmonics better with lighter gauge strings or doesn't matter???
