Schecter Diamond Tempest or Gibson SG?

I currently have schecter Diamond tempest extreme which is a pretty decent metal guitar which is what i generally play nowadays. but a friend is selling his sg for like 1/3 of the retail price and i'm wondering if its worth buying or just sticking with the schecter.
