Am I overreacting about my son's grades?

You want the best for your son and you are a better parent for it. However, his GPA is a 3.857 which is good enough to earn himself a scholarship at the college of his choice; including Perdue and Carnegie, especially if his SAT scores are superior and that what matters the most. So, he made a "B" on his report card. Big deal! He STILL maintains a near perfect GPA AND he is only a freshman, which is plenty of time for him to reach the top of his class. If you keep on riding him; like you are doing now, he will turn against you and have absolutely nothing to do with you when you need your son the most. Do you want to spend your golden years apart from your son/ grandchildren because your behavior?
