Guitar distortion/clean sound problem?

I have a schecter omen 6 and i got it in december 2010. It used to work great, but when I plug it into an amp the clean sound is really quiet and the distorted sound is really loud. I take guitar lessons and the teacher said it has really low output and he has never seen a guitar do that. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with it or how to fix it? It is not the amp because it does it on every amp i use.
