I cant decide between these two guitars?

There is no significant difference in quality between these two. The Schecter is a guitar more geared towards hard rock or heavy metal right out of the box. This is because of it's thin, fast neck and pickup design. The Les Paul will give you more versatility in sound, like blues, classic rock, hard rock. But the Les Paul isn't for everyone because the neck is bigger than most other guitars and they can be heavier as well. If the width of the neck isn't an issue nor the weight, I would recommend the Les Paul. You get more tonal variety and there is a plethora of aftermarket pickup options in case you want to change the tone down the road. It would suit you well with punk and rock but allow you to play other types of music in future. Best of luck.
